Book club

Welcome to Volans’ Book Club where we dive into fresh ideas for the next chapter with our favourite authors.

Each month we read and discuss a book focused on creating positive exponential shifts. Our book club is a space to come together to imagine (and take action for) the future.

We invite authors at the forefront of systems thinking, to discuss their thoughts and writing. Facilitated by our CEO, Louise Kjellerup Roper, the book club live sessions offer members the chance to participate in a Q&A with the author, connect with one another, be inspired, and explore solutions to our most urgent challenges.

The book club is open to anyone interested in driving a better future, especially those working in or entering business and finance.

Our next book:

Change Everything: How We Can Rethink, Repair and Rebuild Society

Natalie Bennett

We are looking forward to being joined by Natalie Bennett for a conversation around her book Change Everything: How We Can Rethink, Repair and Rebuild Society

Change Everything calls for a radical rethinking of society to address pressing social, political, economic, and environmental crises. Bennett, a former leader of the Green Party of England and Wales, outlines her vision for a better future, grounded in Green politics. The book emphasizes the need for fundamental shifts in how society operates, from introducing a Universal Basic Income (UBI) to reducing working hours and prioritising sustainability.

In conversation with Helen Pankhurst

Helen Pankhurst is a women’s rights activist, scholar and writer, the great-granddaughter of Emmeline Pankhurst and granddaughter of Sylvia Pankhurst.

The conversation was around the intersections of climate justice, gender equality, and politics, highlighting the need to address these issues simultaneously and prioritize marginalised communities, particularly women.
